Adaptogens: What you need to know

Adaptogens are natural substances, often found in herbs, that have been found to help our bodies adapt to stress and balance bodily processes.

Adaptogens work to strengthen our internal systems, promote vitality, stabilize mood, and improve focus and performance.

How do adaptogens work in our bodies?

Researchers say adaptogenic herbs interact with our hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, a complex system of glands, hormones, and receptors in our bodies.

When we add adaptogens to our daily habits, the biological properties and compounds work with our HPA axis to create balance. For example, if hormone levels are unbalanced, adaptogens can help normalize hormones.

A popular adaptogen, Ashwagandha, has been shown to support restful sleep and positive mood.* It is a well loved herb for good reason and a great daily supplement to help you move through the challenges of everyday life.

Feeling overwhelmed, tense or stressed? Opt for Lemon Balm to promote relaxation and relieve occasional stress and nervous tension.*
